Mr. Holder, last week you announced that the department will bring to Guantanamo detainees accused of planning the 9/11 attacks to trial in federal court in New York, as we've talked about this morning.
On Friday you said that you'd not have authorized prosecution if you were not confident that the outcome would be successful.
However, many critics have offered their own predictions about how such a trial might well play out.

"Congressman Louie Gohmert's outrageous comments not only insult the victims of 9/11 and their families but also offer the latest evidence that the Republican Party has been taken over by right-wing extremists. House Republicans should immediately condemn Congressman Gohmert's offensive remarks.
"Whether they're attending 'tea party' rallies featuring Holocaust imagery, comparing health insurance reform to terrorism, or staying silent about plans to burn public officials in effigy, the tenor from House R

....Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas suggested yesterday that Democrats may actually want another terrorist attack because rebuilding [NYC] would create jobs.
'You've got subways, tunnels, bridges all subject to terrorism.
And unless they're trying to create a new jobs bill by allowing terrorism back in New York then this is insane.

Why should my representative get threatened by outside interest groups, when it's my vote that puts them in their seat.
Why is it OK for powers outside my voting district try and influence who stays and who goes?

After the Department of Justice announced it would move toward convicting 9/11 terrorists in a New York City courtroom, Congressional Republicans raced to condemn the decision.
Because Republicans believe that their political fortunes improve when the country is fearful, party leadership jumped at the chance to scare people.
Yet as is often the case, the House Republican Caucus' overzealous, far-right members crossed the line.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.), who is about as conservative on homeland security as anybody living above ground, was on FOX last night riffing about the potential motivations of New Yorkers who actually want terrorists tried on their home soil.
He went on to provide a helpful list of potential weak spots that a well-informed terrorist -- say someone who watched Louie Gohmert on FOX -- might target during the trials.

My profile of WorldNetDaily made the case that the conservative Website, which opinion-makers brush off as a conspiracy hub, is actually incredibly influential on the right.
Here's some evidence for that argument.
For months — really since it was announced at the How to Take Back America Conference — WND has backed a campaign to send "pink slips" to members of Congress.
